How much it really costs SMM in Poland
The question we hear most often from Ukrainian entrepreneurs in Poland sounds like this: “How much does it cost to run my Instagram?” And almost always there is an expectation of a single figure behind it — some 1,500 zlotys a month, after which clients start coming.
The problem is not that the figure is small. The problem is that it is incomplete. SMM is not one service but four separate cost items, and if you cover only one of them, the other three simply will not work. Let us break it down honestly, with real ranges from the Polish market in 2026.
Item one: profile management
This is what people usually mean by “SMM”. Content plan, copy, design, publishing, replies in direct messages.
- Junior freelancer — 800–1,500 zł/month
- Experienced freelancer — 1,500–3,000 zł/month
- Studio — 3,000–8,000 zł/month
The difference is not in the number of posts. The difference is whether there is a strategy behind them. A freelancer for 1,000 zlotys solves the problem of “the profile should not be empty”. That is a legitimate task — but it is not about sales.
Item two: visual content
Here is where the biggest hole in budgets hides. Photo and video are usually are not included in the cost of management — and that is normal, because it is separate work by separate people.
- A photo session (2–3 hours, 30–50 edited shots) — 800–2500 zł
- Reels shoot (half a day, 8–12 clips) — 1500–4000 zł
- Editing from your footage — 100–300 zł per clip
The minimum that actually works: one shoot per quarter plus regular reels from a phone. If content is shot once a year, by month six the profile starts to look like a photo album rather than a living business.
Item three: advertising budget
This is the item most often confused with the agency fee. The advertising budget is money that goes straight to Meta or Google, not to the specialist.
For a local business in a Polish city, the lower limit at which the algorithm manages to learn at all is roughly 1,500–2,000 zł/month. Below that the campaign stays in the learning phase, the cost per result jumps and the data never accumulates.
Ad management is charged separately: 800–2,500 zł/month or 10–20% of the budget.
Item four: what is done once
The least obvious part — and at the same time the one without which everything else works twice as badly.
- Positioning and tone of voice — 2000–6000 zł
- Identity and design templates — 1500–5000 zł
- Analytics setup and pixel — 500–1500 zł
These are one-off costs. But they determine whether the next twelve months of work will be consistent, or whether every new contractor will start from scratch and in their own way.
What it adds up to
3500–5000 zł
Starter
Management by a freelancer, reels from a phone, a small advertising budget. Suitable when you need to test a hypothesis and understand whether your audience is on social media at all.
7000–12000 zł
Working
A studio or a strong freelancer, quarterly shoots, an adequate advertising budget, analytics in place. The level at which SMM starts producing a predictable number of enquiries.
from 15,000 zł
Growth
Several channels, regular production shoots, a dedicated advertising specialist, testing new formats and scaling what already works.
The main thing to take away
The difference between the first and the second scenario is not twice as many posts. It is the difference between “the profile exists” and “the profile brings clients”.
And if the budget is limited, the honest advice is this: better to run one channel at the working level than three channels at the starter level. A budget spread thin brings no result in any direction — it just gets spent more slowly.
